Dr. Naoki Watanabe (MD, Psychiatry) was Honorary Director of Mental Hospital Kamakurayama working as a psychiatrist since 1982 focusing on Morita Therapy until April 2025. He continues his service at Kishiro Mental clinic focusing on Group Morita Therapy. He is also a visiting professor at Saint Marianna University School of Medicine.

He finds Morita Therapy as a way (do) to find  his natural self like Kendo (the way of Sword), Sado (the way of Tea) or Kyudo (the way of archery). He values engaging in creation of art works like drawing, polishing seashells, or spending one day at the ancient Japanese House as a way of doing to freely cultivate his daily life. Recently,  he began collaborating with a German colleague who built  a house in Shikoku Island and lives according to the principle of Morita Therapy. “Those who are interested to join us are welcome”.
